Reporting into the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Executive will be responsible for implementing year-round, content-led marketing campaigns for Brand Licensing Europe, the leading European event dedicated to licensing and brand extension. With over 260 leading brands exhibiting including Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox, FC Barcelona, Arsenal, The V&A, Beano Studios, JCB and Nickelodeon, this role will play a crucial part in helping to drive attendee and exhibitor growth for one of the fastest growing shows in the UK. The 2018 edition welcomed 7,800+ visitors from 82 countries looking to secure their next big deal.

Brand Licensing Europe is part of the Global Licensing Group, the licensing industry’s leading tradeshow organizer and media partner. Its mission is to provide licensing opportunities around the world by bringing brands and products together and includes the following events and information products: Licensing Expo, Brand Licensing Europe, Licensing Expo Japan, Licensing Expo China, NYC Licensing Summit & License Global magazine.

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Executive to plan and execute marketing campaigns for Brand Licensing Europe, helping to drive attendee and exhibitor growth across the UK & Europe. 2019 is a significant year for the event as it moves to ExCeL London for the first time, something which you will be expected to communicate and effectively to the show’s audience.

The European marketing team is also responsible for acquiring European attendees, exhibitors and subscribers for the other products within the Global Licensing Group (GLG) working closely with our colleagues in the US and Asia.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and execute Brand Licensing Europe and GLG marketing plans with input and support from the Marketing Manager
  • Deliver marketing communications and analysis within the event portfolio including:
    • New and innovative marketing solutions
    • Copy, design, mailing, printing of direct mail pieces
    • Working with License Global to produce content marketing pieces
    • Identification of strategic partners to increase marketing reach
    • Fulfillment and monitoring of relevant partner activity
    • Data strategies including lead gen, acquisition and retention the development of our prospect database
    • PR and external advertising
    • Lead generation for the sales team
    • Evaluating customer research, market conditions, and competitor data and implementing marketing plan alterations as needed
    • Conducting and documenting year-round customer insight (surveys, interviews etc.) to develop key audience personas and water-tight value propositions
    • Updating budgets and raising purchase orders
    • Collaborating with the US and Asia marketing & publication teams to support the growth of GLG products
    • Undertaking ad hoc projects as required
    • During peak campaign periods, you will also be expected to support the specialist Digital Marketing team on:
  • Execution of email campaigns
    • Preparation of 3rd party email campaigns for media partners
    • Managing and updating the show website
    • Organic social media campaigns across Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & skills:

  • Minimum 18 months experience in a marketing role in a B2B environment with the full mix of marketing skills
  • Experience of developing, maintaining and delivering on marketing plans to meet company objectives
  • Proactively able to establish and maintain effective working team relationships within own team and with all other departments
  • A strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Understanding of database management and segmentation techniques
  • Experience using a CRM system – Salesforce would be preferred
  • Experience using automation software – Eloqua would be preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Outstanding attention to detail and flawless copywriting and proofing skills are essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate data and draw conclusions
  • Sound knowledge of digital marketing practices and channels such as Adobe Analytics, SEO, PPC and social media
